Syeda Tayyaba Batool has been working at Department of Endocrinology & Metabolism since 2013 till now after passing her Masters in Food & Nutrition subject from University of Home Economics, Lahore. In 2009, she has also conducted her academic university thesis at the same place (Department of Endocrinology & Metabolism) on the topic (Assessment of Carbohydrate Intake of Type 2 Diabetes).

From (Feb 2013 –Oct 2015), she has been working with Abbott Nutrition organization, at the Department of Endocrinology & Metabolism. During this period, she has been engaged in delivering diet counseling of Type 1 Diabetic, Type 2 Diabetic, Gestational Diabetic, obese patients, celiac disease patients and medical ward rotation too.

From Oct, 2015, she has been engaged in International Project (iHealthT2D) Diabetes Prevention Project from Imperial College of London as a Lead Dietitian. She has been engaged in customization of dietary material according to Pakistan. She has also been trained by Imperial College dietitian on the delivery of dietary intervention protocols. She has the responsibility of dietary training of community health workers for the project. She has been involved in updating and reporting of iHealth Dietary intervention to Imperial College. Tayyaba has also delivered her contribution in iHealth 3- year Follow-ups too till the results of the study. She has been involved in delivering intervention to rural and urban communities, also performed activities as community health worker.

Tayyaba is also a lifetime member of (Pakistan Nutrition & Dietetic Society PNDS) organization. She also a license of her passed examination of Registered Dietitian (RD) in Pakistan in 2015. She also trains Nutrition students as a part of their Internship Program at Department of Endocrinology & Metabolism.

Tayyaba has been also involved in training of diet team members of the Intake-24 Project, part of GHRU collaboration since 2021; as trained by Imperial College and Cambridge University protocols. She also attends dietary interventions/meal plan modifications of referral patients of OPD (Endocrinology & Diabetes Centre). She is currently attending Follow-4 of iHealthT2D Diabetes Prevention Project at (Department of Endocrinology & Metabolism).

Established in 2003, Services Institute of Medical Sciences (SIMS) is a tertiary level Medical School located in Lahore, Pakistan. It is affiliated with the Services Hospital Lahore (SHL), which is a teaching hospital with a 1500 beds capacity. SIMS offers a range of MS, MD, MCPS and FCPS programmes.
The Department of Medical Education & Research, within SIMS, receives students and researchers from national and international organisations providing an enabling environment and access to its research friendly administration, active Institutional Review Board, electronic medical records, ISO certified laboratories, publication department and a digital research library.
