Nazmul Sarwar is a PhD student at Medical Research Council (MRC) Epidemiology Unit, School of Clinical Medicine, University of Cambridge, UK.

He also holds professional role as an Assistant Professor (currently on study leave) at the Department of Food Processing and Engineering, Faculty of Food Science and Technology, Chattogram Veterinary and Animal Sciences University, Bangladesh.

Nazmul graduated from University of Cambridge with an MPhil in Population Health Sciences (Specialisation theme: Epidemiology) in 2022. For his MPhil dissertation he examined the association between the legume consumption and incidence of type 2 diabetes using data from the prospective EPIC-Norfolk Study. Nazmul completed Master of Science (MS) in Food Processing and Engineering and Bachelor of Science (Hons.) in Food Science and Technology from the Faculty of Food Science and Technology, Chattogram Veterinary and Animal Sciences University, Bangladesh. He received the prestigious Prime Minister Gold Medal 2015, Chancellor Gold Medal 2015 & 2017, and Dean’s Award for his academic excellence.

Nazmul frequently engaged with the media to advocate for awareness and understanding in the field of food science and nutrition.
