Waseem Haider

Program: PhD

Mr. Waseem Haider is enrolled in the Ph.D. programme at the King Edward Medical University, Lahore, Pakistan.

Along with being a NIHR Academy member, Waseem is working as a Health Educator at the Department of Community Medicine, Faculty of Public Health in King Edward Medical University Lahore for the last five years. He is also a member of the statistical review board of an indexed and well-reputed research journal “Annals of King Edward Medical University, Lahore”. He teaches and supervises field visits of undergraduate students of King Edward Medical University.

Waseem completed his MSc in Sociology from the University of Gujrat and MPhil in Public Health from the University of Punjab. He has certification in Multivariate analysis in Quantitative research methods from Bielefeld University, Germany. He has won Erasmus, HEC indigenous and HEC FDP scholarships.

His research interests include health education, mental health, environmental health, occupational health, and health policy.

King Edward Medical University (KEMU), formerly known as King Edward Medical College, was established in 1860 as Lahore Medical School. It is the oldest and most prestigious medical institute in Pakistan, producing highly competent medical graduates for more than 150 years. It was elevated to the rank of University in 2006. In addition to undergraduate programs, it provides more than 50 post-graduate training programs. Several big hospitals are attached with King Edward Medical University including Mayo Hospital Lahore, lady Aitcheson Hospital and Lady Wallington Hospital which are situated in the heart of Lahore city.
