Dr. Farzana Tamanna Ummey Shaon is enrolled in Masters of Public Health Program at James P Grant school of Public Health, BRAC University, Dhaka, Bangladesh.

Prior to join this course, she completed her bachelor degree in dentistry from University of Dhaka, Bangladesh. After finishing the bachelor degree, Farzana did clinical practices for more than two years in dental clinics and Hospitals. Some experiences from clinical practices influenced her to join this Master’s program and become a researcher. In this one year, she has gone through different modules which are essential for becoming a researcher of public health. Instead of having bookish knowledge, she has gained a lot of field experience in this year. These experiences help us to develop practical skills which may help us to become a successful public health professional. Besides, Farzana is doing a research on prevalence of depression and associated factors among women with breast cancer at a tertiary Hospital in Dhaka City, Bangladesh.
