Ali Ahsan is enrolled in masters in public health at James P Grant School of public health.

By training, he is a physician. He completed his MBBS back in 2015. During his bachelor, he learned about clinical and paraclinical aspects like medicine, cardiology, gynaecology, general surgery, Ophthalmology, and Otolaryngology. He has completed the certificate course on Diabetology. He also has Post graduate training on General Surgery. He worked as an indoor medical officer at Enam Medical college hospital. Where he performed general elective surgeries, emergency surgeries, and casualty management.

Before joining this course, he was working as Research Medical Officer at the Centre for Non-communicable disease and nutrition in BRAC James P Grant School of Public Health, BRAC University. During that period, he was leading an NCD surveillance field research team. Where he monitored a research team of 14 field research assistants and medical technologists. His team performed anthropometry, biological sample collection and process, ECG, Retinal Imaging, health and food intake data collection, and Primary management of the research participants. Ali is doing his thesis on the Prevalence of selected non-communicable diseases and factors associated with hypertension among 20-59 years old females in Bangladesh
